connecting flight in Newark, will I have enough time

connecting flight in Newark, will I have enough time?
I have to connect in Newark EWR (from Birmingham BHX, United Kingdom) to Nashville BNA, midday on a Saturday (mid August). I have 2 hours 40 mins but need to go from terminal B to terminal A and as I understand will need to go through customs and luggage handling/bag re-check-in at Newark due to going from an international flight to a domestic flight. Both flights are with continental however I am required to check in with expressjet airlines inc dba co expre for my flight to Nashville. Has anyone done this trip? Will I have enough time to connect? Any advice greatly appreciated.

Those connections are scheduled so that under normal conditions, there is plenty of time to make the connection. You should have plenty of time to connect after you clear customs. I don't know how Continental works in Newark, but I fly Delta's connection partners all the time, and I have that stuff on my ticket too. However, in reality, you can just take your bags to the Continental/Continental Express check-in counter and re-check them there. It might even be that there is a place right there at customs where you can re-check your bags for a connecting flight. It does not take very long to get from Terminal B to Terminal A at EWR. Newark's a pretty fast airport to get through, actually (or at least it was the last time I flew American to Newark).

Assuming that there are not a lot of other international flights coming in as well, you should have enough time. You do have to clear customs and then pick-up your bags before heading out of terminal B. There is a monorail that should get you to terminal A. After you get to terminal A, you do need to check your luggage in with expressjet.

It's true that connecting from Terminal A to B at Newark is quick and easy. Also re-checking baggage the Continental staff is very professional and that goes pretty fast. What may snag you up is going through customs. I fly in and out of EWR to UK several times a year and suggest that you ask the flight attendant if you can exit the plane as soon possible to make a tight connection. As long as the flight arrives on time there shouldn't be any problems. This is a map and some info about EWR. Enjoy your trip! http://www.ifly.com/newark-liberty-international/terminal-map

Never done this but think of it this way 50 minutes to get your bags, and then go over to ExpressJet Airlines' check-in which leaves you with 1 hr and 50 minutes, then think about how long it will take you to get through security which could take at the most 20 minutes when that is over you will have at least 1 hr and 20 minutes, and at last you can make it to your gate with 1 hr and 5 minutes.... If you have to go to the bathroom then go on the plane before it lands so you won't waste anytime and miss your connection. Hope it helped

It depends on when you want to travel and how flexible your dates are. Usually flying in the middle of the week is the cheapest but since you are going to Vegas you may be able to get a package deal really cheap. I know that they run adds in the Dallas news papers almost weekly for flight and hotel combos. I would check the Nashville news papers travel section. Also, web sites like Orbitz, Expedia, and Hotdeals.com have packages that can save you a bundle. Just remember to look for the flexible dates option when you are searching their web sites. GOOD LUCK!!!

Heather, check out Southwest Airlines. They have 2 nonstops a day from Nashville. One way? Round trip? When? You did not give enough info. Regards, Dan

You flight time is appoximately a total of 6 hours but with your layover, expect to be on the road for 7 1/2 hours the least to 9 hours. Unfortunately there is no non-stop flight from YVR (Vancouver, B.C.) to BNA (Nashville, TN) Please make a note that the state of Tennessee observes Central Daylight Savings Time right now. I believe Vancouver observes Pacific Daylight Savings Time so therefore, there is a two time change being BNA ahead of 2 hours.

Yoy will have an AMAZING time in Nashville! I went there on vacation a few years ago and loved it! Make sure you go see a performance at the Grand Old Opry, you can go on a brunch or dinner cruise on the Memphis Queen (Riverboat), you can walk into almost any restaurant and hear live music just about any time of day (FANTASTIC! Throw a few dollars in their tip jar. Great talent!), there is the Charlie Daniels Museum, take a tour of the Jack Daniels Distillery.....how is that for a start? Believe me, as a single guy, you will have a BLAST! ENJOY!!!

If you book southwest right now, then you can escape with a fare of $301. But that's only as long as those internet fares are still being sold. But check expedia.com, priceline.com, or any of those other travel sites to try and get a deal. They will check all of the carriers for you.
2 :
Southwest is usually cheapest on that route. Go to their website directly to check fares.

Cheaper than Southwest. www.WildBeanTravel.com

What is the cheapest/best airline to travel

What is the cheapest/best airline to travel?
short flight from Nashville to Cleveland in June planned. I have never flown before. Would it be better to get a Hotel/Flight deal together? Any other tips would also be appreciated.

try airtran.com and check on their web specials I have got some great deals from there.
2 :
go to expidia.com you would lot of low fare flights
3 :
I love Southwest Airlines because they are almost always cheaper, the airline attendants know how to have fun, and they serve awesome honey roasted peanuts....plus if you sign up for their frequent flier miles you get tons of free drink coupons. For a no-frills airline that is cheap try Northwest Airlines.
4 :
www.kayak.com awesome site, it checks EVERY single other site and airline.
5 :
i use jet blue alot to fly and "cheaptickets" for flights and hotel deals...have fun
6 :
You cannot beat Southwest for the prices. Check some travel sites like Kayak and Booking Buddy for deals. Also, call the hotel directly, often they will give you the best deal and remember they are able to "deal." Ask for specials, discounts for aarp, aaa, etc. or if they can meet those prices.
7 :
United hands down.
8 :
Vacation packages are heavily discounted. You can save up to $200 or more than booking separately. Try hotels.com, expedia.com.
