How long does it take to get from Nashville Int'l Airport to Downtown on Supershuttle

How long does it take to get from Nashville Int'l Airport to Downtown on Supershuttle?
Could anyone with experience taking Supershuttle downtown please tell me how long the trip typically takes from BNA? If my flight is scheduled to land at 8:30 am, could I reasonably be expected to exit the terminal (no checked baggage), get a shuttle, and make it downtown for an appointment at 9:30 or 9:45 am? Is this realistic or would I be better off taking a cab? Thanks!

Southwest Airlines flight with Connection

Southwest Airlines flight with Connection?
Later this week my family is flying on Southwest Airlines. We have a flight with a connection in Nashville. Our original flight leaves THURSDAY at 6:45 AM Eastern time and arrives in Nashville at 7:20 AM Central time. The connecting flight leaves at 7:45 Central time to continue to Florida. I have a few questions about this as we've never flown with Southwest. First, when we have to check in for flights 24 hours in advance do we check in at 6:45 AM WEDNESDAY (24 hours before the first leg) or do we have to wait until it's 24 hours before the second leg of the flight? Also, if you check in 24 hours before the FIRST flight can you check in for both flights? Will you be able to print boarding passes for both legs? Lastly, what are the chances of making a connection in 25 minutes. I know there is some padding to the schedule and they have quite a few flights a day with 25 minute connections, so it wouldn't be reasonable to allow these if EVERYBODY missed them, right? Oh, and we're new to this boarding policy. As long as we get A's or B' we'll be able to find at least two seats together, right? Lastly, when in Florida we'll be using my BlackBerry to check in, so I check in and then when we get to the airport our boarding place will be reserved and we print the passes there?

You should be able to check-in for both flights when you check-in for that first one. Many airlines now allow you to print your boarding pass now when you check-in so if Southwest has that feature, then you can print them out for both legs. As for the connection, that is pretty tight but as you mentioned, airlines do build in some padding so if the flight departs on-time, then you should be able to make the flight. As you get closer to landing, ask the flight attendant what gate your flight arrive at and what gate your departing flight to Florida leaves. That way you have an idea of where you need to go. You can request that the flight attendants hold the flight to Florida for you but whether or not they actually will can depend on how many other passengers are bound for the same destination. If you or someone in your group gets an A or B and can board first, have them put a jacket or something on the seat next to them so that when the other person boards, you can sit together. Also when in Florida and you need to check-in, you can check-in and print the boarding pass at the airport.

I don't think you can unless it is from a family member. Due to privacy issues, terrorism and nutcases of the world, the airline will not give out that information.

Try emailing the army the army.

You will not find this info, you will have to wait until he contacts you. Definitely do not contact the Army, they will not talk to you unless it is someone in his unit who KNOWS you personally and even then you may get the run around.

What is Continental's connection bus service

What is Continental's connection bus service?
I have a flight going from Nashville(BNA) to Newark,Nj, And from there Im suppose to take a "Continental Airlines Flight 3162 operated by CO CONNECTION BUS SERVICE (on Bus)" What is this suppose to be? Is it an actual Bus? and where Do I board it?
Other - Destinations - 1 Answers

Yes, it is a bus. Apparently you are going to a city without air service, so Continental has created a bus connection from Newark to that city. A number of airlines have done that from major hubs like Chicago and New York/Newark. When you get off the plane, ask the gate agent just outside the jetway for directions on where to catch the bus. I'm sure it is well marked.

How long will it take to get through Nashville rush hour on a Thursday morning?
I am driving from Clarksville to pick up my mother from the airport. Her flight lands right before 9, and I was just curious how long I should give myself. Without traffic, it only takes about 45-50 minutes to get to Nashville from Clarksville. Thanks for the tips!

Usually, about 2 and a half hours. But sometimes, up to 3. Cause traffic can sometimes get pretty bad.
2 :
You are hitting right in the middle of rush hour traffic. One fender-bender on the interstate, and you'll be sitting for a long time. I suggest you leave early and have breakfast in Nashville. There is a nice Waffle House on Donelson Pike just north of the airport exit.

Depends on the type of airplane, and the weather conditions. It also depends on various air traffic conditions at the time. You need a wealth of detailed information to predict the flight time for a trip like that, or any flight, sorry. If you call the airline, they can give you a time. Note that this time will be a rough estimate.
2 :
Not sure what Chuck's problem is. A non-stop flight on Southwest is about 1 hour 45 minutes. Other airlines involve a stop enroute, which would be longer.

I'm allowed a piece of checked luggage and a small carry-on. Does that mean I can't take a small container of face cream and such at all? It's a Southwest flight, and I'm going on a school trip to Nashville from Denver.

You can put just about anything underneath the plane (checked luggage). Be aware that creams or "solid" items might flag the x-ray machine and the TSA has the right to inspect the luggage. If you are taking the cream in the carryon; the rules are 3 oz. containers or less only. (and max 3 items of liquid/cream) HTH

Good sale on right now, $145 r/t total with Northwest, or go nonstop with USAir and it's only $165 r/t total. As a sale fare, it will not last forever, and seats can sell out if you wait too long. Best to book direct from http://www.nwa.com or http://www.usair.com in this case. Southwest are also on BWI-BNA with nonstop flights, but their sale isn't as good--$185 r/t total with all taxes and fees.

How early should i arrive at the airport to catch my flight

How early should i arrive at the airport to catch my flight?
Im flying out from Nashville to Dallas, and then dallas to Mexico. My flight leaves at 9:45am on a Thursday through American Airlines. So i was wondering how early i needed to arrive there to get there. Does anyone know if there is bad traffic in Nashville around 7am since it normally takes me an hour to get there? Also, will i have to go through security again when i switch planes?
Air Travel - 4 Answers

1 :
I always think it's wise to allow a good couple of hours between your arrival and the final check-in time. Be sure to find out what that time is, though!
2 :
Domestic flights, allow 2 hours, and international allow 3. So you should be at the airport by 6:45. I'm guessing you should allow an extra half hour for driving just to be sure, so leave home at 5:15. Better to be bored at the airport than to miss your flight.
3 :
you should get there at least 2.5 hours before the flight that way it gives you time to check your luggage, go through security, relax and prepare yourself for the flight, and finally board the plane
4 :
I would arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before departure since you do have an international flight. As for traffic, sometimes there can be traffic at 7:00 am as people try to get to work. If it takes you 1 hour to arrive at the airport without traffic, budget 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours with traffic. Your flight to Mexico will probably leave Terminal D at DFW. I would imagine you would have to go through security again.

Question to anyone who has been to Las Vegas...Is this price reasonable

Question to anyone who has been to Las Vegas...Is this price reasonable?
A roundtrip flight from Nashville, TN to Vegas and 3 nights at the Riviera hotel for 2 adults= $806.00 is that a good deal? How much spending money should we take? We don't gamble much, but we do want to hit the bars every night we are there.
Las Vegas - 12 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
not sure about the airfare portion, but any more than $30 per night for the Riv is too much, the place is a dump! You should be able to get good deals at all the nice hotels these days.
2 :
so its 403 a piece for airline and 3 nights. I don't know how much lower you think the price can go. Bring what you can afford. there are all sorts of things you can see at any price range. they have discount ticket places. and just walking around is fun.
3 :
I really am not sure if that is a good deal or not. I paid $400/per person to go and that was for a 5 night stay in the New York New York Hotel and round trip airfare from Milwaukee, WI. Of course that was 5 years ago so the rates have probably gone up a lot since then(I went in January). I also may have gone during their "off season" as well, being after any holiday and during cooler weather too. We had temps between 70 and 75 in the middle of January so for me that was warm when I am used to freezing cold weather for that time of year. As for how much to bring, if you aren't a big gambler, then just bring what you can afford, maybe a few hundred dollars. There is so much to do that doesn't cost a lot of money. Each hotel on the strip has some kind of free show each night all night long that is really neat to see. Just going to the different hotels to "check" them out is pretty fun too. Definitely check out the light show on Freemont Street. It runs nightly every hour on the hour. It is really cool and is also FREE! There is so much a person can do in Vegas that doesnt involve gambling that is very reasonable so really just bring what you can afford.
4 :
That is a little too much for staying at Riviera. We recently paid $600 for a round trip from Indianapolis and 4 nights at Excalibur. When is your trip? Southwest has fares out of Nashville for around $159 each way per person- so I might see why your trip is so high. 2 tickets at that price would be $680 by itself, and then add another $40/night for a hotel and that would be $800. It really depends on your dates, but it looks like Continental Airlines is cheaper than Southwest in this case. They have round trips around $300 each- which would bring your total down to $730. http://www.sidestep.com/s/flights.jsp?searchid=davQ4vzHuq1NRCYKxvgzRQ&completed=true (I just put in random dates). All in all, you didn't really get that bad of a deal- I like to try to stay within $800 for the air and hotel. For 4 days in Vegas, I would budget about $50/day each for gambling since you said you don't gamble much. But since you say you want to hit the bars all three nights, drinks at bars can get very expensive. I would bring at least $100 to spend per day just on drinks. Food- $50/day each= $400 Gambling- $50/day each= $400 Drinks- $100/night= $300 Entertainment- $100/day= $400 So I would try to bring $1500
5 :
The riviera is not a good hotel to stay in. If you are looking to go this year still, you should be able to get deals at much nicer hotels. Try to stay more on the strip if you want a nicer room. Excaliber should be pretty cheap right now Planet HolleyWood Should be pretty reasonable Tropicana Luxor New York New York
6 :
No you can definitely get a better deal! Check out usairways.com, they have the best deals. We just booked 3 nights at Mandalay Bay with flight from Boston for $500 pp.
7 :
You cna get a much better brice at Best of Vegas http://www.BestOfVegas.com have fun!
8 :
I always check the individual airlines and hotels web sites for pricing, then compare their prices to the travel aggregators like Travelocity and Expedia. Usually it's less expensive to buy your airfare directly from the airline web site, and to book the hotel room directly from the hotel's web site reservation page. You also have more flexibility in choosing your flight times that way.
9 :
most of that price is probably the airfare... I always try to book my flights on Tues or Wed, those are the two cheapest days to fly... try that if u can.
10 :
If your hitting the bars every night your going to need quite a bit probably $1200-$1500. check these for specials and other things to do
11 :
The price is reasonable. I fly in from a major hub (Chicago) and pay about the same. As a rule in addition to transportation and hotel rooms, we take a days pay for each day we are there. But we never go above that. No matter what! That seems to wok out well.
12 :
pretty reasonable for 2 of us staying one week at bally's air and hotel cost2 of us 744 each to fly from duluth minn to vegas on allegaint air..eating at buffets is cheaper than cafe food in the hotels and the variety is better...drinks are about 4.50 each and higher...don't drink beer so i couldn't tell you about that and things change every year. have fun

If you can go on the 14th or after, book on Southwest for $90-105. Other than this, it is a lot cheaper to drive. I-77 to Charleston, WV, I-64 West to Louisville, and I-65 South to Nashville. Regards, Dan

You can find flight leaving after 8 p.m but they will not be red-eye flights as you will most probably arrive before midniÅŸght due to different time zomes.. You would have red-eye flights eastbound only....

So you need BNA-SAN on May 18th departing after 7pm, arriving as soon as possible to San Diego? There aren't any nonstop flights between Nashville and San Diego. The closest nonstop flight is Nashville to LAX. Frontier is coming up cheapest, with 6:55pm departure from Nashville, connection at Denver, and arrival to San Diego at 10:40pm (San Diego time). Plane tickets - Nashville to NYC - Price Jumped

Plane tickets - Nashville to NYC - Price Jumped!!?
This past Friday I looked online at flights from Nashville to LaGuardia. Found round trip tickets for $392 after taxes and everything. I had to finalized some things on Saturday, went back out to American’s website on Sunday and prices have jumped to $587. The plane up is about half full (no seats purchased over the last week to 10 days). The plane back is nearly empty. The flights are on Sat, 4/5 and back on Tues 4/8. I have only flown a couple times, so I don’t know how all this works. I’ve checked all the online travels sites and can’t get anything close to the original price. Would calling the airlines get me a better price? Do you think these prices will drop again? Thanks.

get tickets ASAP, they will only continue to rise by maybe 100 dollars a day!! =| plane trips are so expensive. Drive...it will save money, and worth the trip/experience =)
2 :
No, they won't drop if you ask me. I monitor the prices very carefully for the last few months and since the end of January prices grow and grow and rarely drop back to normal. This reminds me once when I was shopping the prices went up with 80 euro in less than 5 minutes. I was feeling so helpless. Here http://blog.lessno.com they publish some price facts from time to time, maybe they'll help you
3 :
What happens is that fares for a plane flight are classified in class codes. So many seats are sold as "Y" class, and other letter codes. Each letter code has a price to it, and they are sold according to request by users. Once all the certain tickets are sold out in that letter class then prices will go up, not down and seats become more expensive. So, yes, you can see that the flight is not sold out, but that does not mean that tickets will get cheaper. The timeframe you are talking about is a holiday timeframe (easter) and is also spring break for some schools. I would imagine that flights will be selling out shortly as people figure out their schedules and start making plans for this time. Prices will most likely go up even more if you wait longer. Purchasing the seats via the internet (through the carrier's web site or a seat consolidator like cheaptickets, lastminutetravel.com) is cheaper than calling up the airline directly. If you see a fare on-line, and go to call them up, in most cases they are going to tell you that the fare you see is an internet only fare and they can not match it. Better book something now or you may find yourself with no reservation and no seat!
